Many Afghan families fled or were evacuated from Afghanistan after the US troops were withdrawn from the region. Some have settled here in Sonoma County. Lou Zweier has conversations with Reverend Daniel Green–who is involved in providing support services to the refugee families here in Petaluma –and Mohammed Zahir Kadhiri–a father of one of the Afghan families who recently arrived in Sonoma County—to illuminate the experiences of these families, as they’re relocating and becoming part of this community.
